Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator an efficient and safe place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major study of operators' working conditions. The most important objective is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is extremely comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential info, in order to keep the operator functioning as efficiently as possible.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all individually adjustable to be able to maintain an optimum working position. Furthermore, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and easy to operate levers that are offered for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the window washers and horn.
To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit supplies incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machine has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, recirculation and defrosting. As an extra option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Basic instrumentation consists of: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Furthermore, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
One of the important options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks can be outfitted with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the model. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors which happen and their current values.
