What is the Distinction between Cushion Tire and Pneumatic Tire?
Determining the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts is amongst the most popular questions about this kind of machine. Every type of tire is specially ideal for various needs.
Similar to tires on a vehicle, pneumatic tires have air in them. These kinds of tires are great for indoor application but they are more useful in outdoor "yard" applications and on uneven and gravel surfaces.
Cushion tires are designed as a solid industrial tire that is used mainly for indoor applications. These tires could be utilized outdoors on asphalt surfaces only. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an alternative to get traction tires on the front of the equipment. These are called the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are particularly made for steering. Traction tires situated on the rear of the forklift would simply wear out faster. Hence, if you do need to work outside, having the smooth tires on the rear and traction on the front would be the most economical and safest way to operate.
What is the difference between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?
When trying to determine the main distinction between the two kinds of tires, it can be a bit tricky. They both work in the same outdoor conditions such as gravel, and asphalt. The main difference between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot puncture, pop or gouge them because they are strong. These tires are more pricey than air pneumatic tires because they are made up of way more rubber. These types of tires are best suited for locations like lumber yards and scrap yards where there can be lots of debris or sharp things on the ground.
The pneumatic tire can be punctured accidentally. You could get flat tires from them when this happens. Before using a forklift with air pneumatic tires, be sure that the yard is free of debris, sharp metals and nails and by checking your work space. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires work great.
