During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device really impressed lots of clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, since the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new machinery to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making telehandlers, stick booms, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Because of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers all around the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
Telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach, compared to any of the various aerial platforms. These machinery are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all types of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
