Kinds of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. These machinery could turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are several aisle widths to take into consideration with various models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, whereas several will use certain guidance systems such as optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks include Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common models in compact retail spaces and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can work in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up models like for instance Reach Trucks. They are usually used within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
