Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Regular forklifts can not move the load away from and towards the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is necessary.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments referred to as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift would often use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform which is meant to raise staff is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
