A type of device in the material handling business that can be used to lift and move loads from one location to another is called a forklift. Each forklift component has a specific function. Different parts can be utilized to move the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The components utilized to lift and lower the load is known as the forklift mast. There are various kinds of masts utilized for lifting loads to various heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you can power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is situated within the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is located within the middle of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the largest parts of the forklift, like the counterweights, that are situated at the back to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
